Vice President-elect M Venkaiah Naidu today offered prayers at the famous hill shrine Tirumala. Naidu arrived here with his family members last night by a special flight and stayed at a heavily guarded Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) guest house on the hills. He had darshan of the diety during VIP break darshan. He was in the shrine for about 20 minutes. After darshan, Venkaiah Naidu was honoured with a sacred silk cloth besides the holy laddu prasadam and Theertham (celestial water) in a tiny bottle.
Speaking to mediapersons, Naidu, said, “Coming from a humble agricultural background, I started off as an ordinary worker and have risen to this level, all due to the support I got from BJP and its leaders and that is why I always held BJP as mother and hence, became emotional over moving from the mother BJP. From being constantly with the people, I am moving to a defined constitutional office and I hope I would be able to do justice. I will endeavour to uphold the dignity and decorum of the office of vice-president.”
“I pray to god for corruption free, black money free, inequality free, hunger free, secular India”, he said.
