Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) on Wednesday issued notices to former chief priest of Tirumala, Ramana Deekshitulu and YSRCP leader, Vijay Sai Reddy for making baseless allegations against the TTD, as well as the State Government led by Chandrababu. TTD warned of further legal action against the duo, if their explanation was not satisfactory.
Few weeks back, Ramana Deekshitulu made allegations that a pink diamond had gone missing from the treasury, and that TTD officials had dug up the Srivari Potu — the kitchen where prasadam is prepared for the Venka-teswara temple at Tirumala — for hidden treasure. Vijay Sai Reddy had said that the gold ornaments and jewellery in the TTD-run Tirumala temple have found their way to Chandrababu’s residence.
The TTD has decided to take action against those who are making defamatory statements against it. Several others might also receive notices it is learnt.
