After facing backlash for their decision to cancel darshan to pilgrims during Astabandhana Balalaya Mahasamprokshanam, the TTD administration today revoked the decision and decided to allow devotees for darshan from August 11 to 16th.
EO along with TTD Trust Board Chairman Sri Putta Sudhakar Yadav speaking to media persons at Annamaiah Bhavan in Tirumala on Tuesday said that, this decison has been taken under the instructions of Honourable CM of AP Sri N Chandrababu Naidu.
“Now the decision is open to pilgrims. We will go with majority of pilgrim opinion on the mode of darshan whether to allot tickets online or to provide darshan on first come first serve basis based on the availability of time. We will receive the feedback from pilgrims till 23rd July since the Board Meeting is on July 24. A final call on how to provide darshan will be taken in the board meeting”, said, TTD EO Sri Anil Kumar Singhal.
Adding further the EO said,”Our earlier decision to dispense with darshan to pilgrims from August 11 to 16 was also in the larger interests of pilgrims as we could be able to allot hardly 30 hours during the six day period of religious ceremony for darshan. During this time we could be able to provide darshan to less than 15 thousand pilgrims a day in the available time space. Our chief aim behind the previous decision was to avoid inconvenience and hardship to Pilgrims”, both Chairman and EO reiterated
