Sri Venkateswara Annaprasadam completed 33 long years today on April 6th. Annadanam which is the best among all charities, at the holiest place, to the devotees of greatest God Lord Venkateswara, is really a noble act. You can be a part of this sacred TTD Annadanam Scheme by contributing ample amounts as donations. According to estimates till March, the trust has Rs 937 crore deposits.
The temple administration of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTDs) has began Annadana Scheme about three decades ago in the year 1985 on April 6 by the then Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Late Sri NT Rama Rao. The tradition underwent plethora of changes since years, but the soul remains to be the same. Every day nearly 1.76 lakh devotees are availing the free Annaprasadam under the scheme in Matrusri Tarigonda Vengamamba Nithya Annaprasadam Complex, PAC-II & S.V. Guest House, Tirumala.TTD also supplying food packets on a continuous basis to the pilgrims awaiting for darshan in the outside Q-lines and Vaikuntam Q-Complexes, Tirumala including milk to the awaiting children at free of cost.
Volunteers are also welcome to participate in the Srivari Annaprasada Seva, performing duties like vegetable cutting. Many volunteers are deputed every day in the temple premises, to render services at the Annadanam complex, queue lines and other prime areas. The volunteers are fondly referred to as Srivari Sevakulu.
