On the third day evening of the Srivari Navaratri Brahmotsavams on Sunday the utsava idol of Sri Malayappa Swamy, in Rukmini Sathyabhama Sameta Murali Krishna alankaram was seated under the `Muthyapu Pandiri Vahanam’.
In view of COVID-19 restrictions, the vahana Seva was observed at the Kalyanotsava Mandapam inside the Srivari temple.
Legend says that Lord Venkateswara hailed as “Alankara Priya”(lover of decoration). Pearls and diamonds abundantly.
The 26th chapter of Padma Puranam refers to an umbrella made of pearls giving shade to Lord Vishnu. Symbolising this, Lord Malayappa flanked by His two consorts Sridevi and Bhudevi graced under the pearl canopy to bless his devotees during Brahmotsavam.
