‘Koil Alwar Thirumanjanam’, the purificatory ritual was performed inside the sacred shrine of Lord Venkateswara on Tuesday in connection with Anivara Asthanam which falls next Tuesday.
This traditional cleansing fete is observed four times in a year during Vaikuntha Ekadasi, Ugadi, Anivara Asthanam and Annual Brahmotavams.
Speaking on this occasion, TTD EO Sri Anil Kumar Singhal said, on the penultimate Tuesday of Anivara Asthanam, Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam was observed today in Tirumala temple. He said the entire temple premises including, roof, walls, floor, puja articles etc. have been cleansed and Parimalam an aromatic mixture is smeared all over, he added.
Meanwhile this temple fete was observed from 6am to 10 am on Tuesday. The temple staff took part in this cleansing fete with utmost devotion.
Temple DyEO Sri Haridranath, Peishkar Sri Ramesh VGO Sri Raveendra Reddy and others took part.
