After the famous Hill shrine of Tirumala temple is being closed for 13 hours following Solar Eclipse on Thursday, the darshan to pilgrims recommenced at 2 pm. Additional EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy was present during the re-opening of temple doors.
As a practise, the temple doors were closed on Wednesday night at 11pm and reopened on Thursday at 12noon. After performing Grahana Suddhi and other Dhanurmasa rituals, the pilgrims were allowed for darshan after 2pm. The pilgrims were allowed to enter the compartments of Vaikuntham queue complex from 12noon onwards.
On the other hand, the Annaprasadam activity commenced at Matrusri Tarigonda Vengamamba Annaprasadam Complex (MTVAC) from 2:30pm onwards. The milk distribution for children waiting in compartments began from 1pm itself.
TTD has cancelled VIP Break darshan including Protocol, Slotted Sarva Darshan (free darshan with time alot tokens), Divya Darshan(footpath) on Thursday owing to eclipse.
