On the second day of Annual Pavitrotsavams, the sacred garlands were decorated to deities on Wednesday.
Pavitrotsavam is a well prescribed ritual as “Trayahnika Deeksha”, where the archaka prays for forgiveness for all lapses– done either consciously or otherwise– in the daily worship of the Lord. This ritual is performed towards the rectification of mistakes. Commences on the auspicious Sravana Sukla Ekadasi and concludes on Trayodasi.
On the morning of the second day, on Dwadasi, after performing Snapana Tirumanjanam to the utsava murthies, Pavitra Maladharana programme was performed which is also called Pavitra Pratishtha. All the deities were decorated with colourful garlands made of sacred threads.
TTD EO Sri Anil Kumar Singhal, JEO Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju and other temple staffs were also present.
