On the fourth day of ongoing five day Maha Samprokshanam religious fete, Ksheeradhivasam ritual was performed to Mula Virat and Parihara deities on Wednesday.
ADHIVASAM:
As a part of Prana Pratishta, Adhivasam is performed to induce cosmic energy to the Vigrahas. The Vigrahas bear a tremendous cosmic power through performance of Prana Pratishta. Worship of manifestation of Lord in the form of Vigrahas enables us to fulfill our wishes and achieve peace.
TYPES OF ADHIVASAM:
The Adhivasas are of different types which includes Ksheeradhivasam, Jaladhivasam, Phaladhivasam, Chayadhivasam, Dhanyadhivasam, Pudhpadhivasam, Sayanadhivasam will be usually performed as per the temple tradition as mentioned in the Scriptures.
KSHEERADHIVASAM:
Ksheeraivasam signifies performing abhishekam to the main deity with holy milk. In Mukundamala, Sri Kulashekara Alwar explains “ksheera saagara taranga sikara saara tarakita charu-murtaye“. The importance of performing Ksheeradhivasam is clearly explained.
ABHISHEKAM PERFORMED TO GOPURA SIKHARAS SEEING THROUGH MIRROR
Another interesting aspect which took part on Wednesday morning was the performance of Abhishekam with sacred water and milk to Gopura Sikhara kalasas of Sri Vimana Venkateswara Swamy, Sri Garudalwar, Sri Yoga Narasimha Swamy, Sri Bhashyakarulavaru, Dhwajasthambha, Sri Bedi Anjaneya Swamy by witnessing their images in mirror.
TTD EO Anil Kumar Singhal, TTD Trust Board member Smt Sudha Narayana Murthy, Tirumala JEO KS Sreenivasa Raju, Temple DyEO Harindranath and other staffs were also present.
