Tirupati Urban SP Sri Abhishek Mohanty said special security arrangements were in place for the grand conduct of the auspicious Garuda Seva, celebrated on fifth day of the annual Brahmotsavams, on Sept. 27 in view of huge turnout of pilgrims. Anantapur Range DIG Sri J Prabhakar and other officials are monitoring the security arrangements.
Keeping in view the safety of devotees two-wheelers will be banned from 12 midnight of September 26 to 2 PM of September 28, he said. Two-wheelers have to park their bikes at parking place provided at Alipiri. Anantapur Range DIG Sri J Prabhakar said APSRTC will run buses round-the-clock and ply over 3,500 trips with a capacity to carry 1.75 lakh devotees to Tirumala for the crucial and holistic Garuda Seva event. The walkers path of Srivari Mettu and Alipiri will also be kept open for 24 hours throughout the day. The vigilance, police, Srivari Sevaks and TTD staff will coordinate and ensure a smooth and incident free conduct of Garuda Seva.
